K Rend Brick Rend is a cement based and polymer modified render system, designed to provide a brick effect finish.

System includes:

A range of polymer modified basecoats for use as a backing for K Rend Brick Rend finish.

- Basecoats:

K Rend HP12 Base:

• A “high polymer” basecoat for enhanced performance on difficult substrates. It is used over dense concrete or brickwork (with the use of R7 Acrylic Primer) as a primary coat for K Rend finishes. K Rend HP12 Base is Kitemarked to BS EN 998-1 and is IAB approved.

K Rend HPX Base:

• A “high polymer” basecoat for ultra high performance onto unusual substrates which require greater flexibility and adhesion. It is used over lightweight blockwork (with alkali resistant reinforcing mesh incorporated) or brickwork (with the use of R7 Acrylic Primer) as a primary coat for K Rend finishes. K Rend HPX Base is Kitemarked to BS EN 998-1 and is IAB approved.

K Rend Standard UF Base:

• A high quality, general purpose sprayable basecoat with excellent workability. It is used over 7 Newton, medium density concrete block as a primary coat for K Rend finishes. K Rend Standard UF Base is Kitemarked to BS EN 998-1 and is IAB approved.

K Rend UF Fibre Base:

• A high quality, general purpose sprayable basecoat with excellent workability and increased impact resistance and tensile strength. It is used over 7 Newton, medium density concrete block as a primary coat for K Rend finishes. K Rend UF Fibre Base is Kitemarked to BS EN 998-1.

- Final coat:

K Rend Brick Rend:

• A self coloured, brick effect finish coat for hand application. It is applied over K Rend basecoats in two differently coloured layers, wet on wet. The face layer is then cut through, whilst still green, to expose the mortar layer and produce the brick effect finish. Brick Rend is Kitemarked to BS EN 998-1 and is BBA and IAB approved.

Basecoat:

Various options available, the choice of basecoat is dependent upon substrate:

7 Newton, medium density concrete blockwork:

- K Rend Standard UF Base or K Rend UF Fibre Base.

• Thickness: 8-10 mm.

• Coverage: 1.8 kg/ mm thick/ m² (14-18 kg/m² for 8-10 mm thickness).

Dense concrete:

- K Rend HP12 Base:

• Thickness: 6 mm.

• Coverage: 1.8 kg/ mm thick/ m² (8-11 kg/m² for 4-6 mm thickness).

Brickwork (choice of two basecoats available):

Prime using K Rend R7 Acrylic Primer (diluted 1:4 in water).

- K Rend HP12 Base.

• Thickness: 6 mm.

• Coverage: 1.8 kg/ mm thick/ m² (8-11 kg/m² for 4-6 mm thickness).

- K Rend HPX Base.

• Thickness: 6 mm.

• Coverage: 1.5 kg/ mm thick/ m² (6-9 kg/m² for 4-6 mm thickness).

Lightweight Block:

- K Rend HPX Base (with alkali resistant reinforcing mesh incorporated).

• Thickness: 6 mm.

• Coverage: 1.5 kg/ mm thick/ m² (6-9 kg/m² for 4-6 mm thickness.

Finish coat:

K Rend Brick Rend mortar layer:

• Thickness: 6-8 mm.

• Coverage: 1.8 kg/ mm thick/ m² (10-15 kg/m² for 6-8 mm thickness).

K Rend Brick Rend face layer:

• Thickness: 3-5 mm.

• Coverage: 1.8 kg/ mm thick/ m² (5-10 kg/m² for 3-5 mm thickness).

• Finish: Brick effect.

Total thickness (finished):

• 20 mm for application onto blockwork.

• 18 mm for all other backgrounds.

Finish coat colour:

Wide colour range available.
