alsecco has just launched its first RIBA-accredited CPD, looking at lightweight stone and glass ventilated rainscreen facades. This is the first in a series of CPD seminars from alsecco aimed at educating architects in the specification of facades and the
requirements of modern architecture.
This first CPD seminar starts by providing an understanding of the comparison between handset stone and lightweight stone ventilated rainscreen cladding. It then considers the requirements of modern architecture and how this has had an influence on these
traditional construction methods.
The seminar then moves on to indicate the method of achieving robust lightweight stone facades by outlining the specification requirements as well as the features and benefits of ventilated rainscreen cladding, and thus introducing the alsecco Airtec Stone
lightweight natural stone system.
The seminar covers the alsecco Airtec stone manufacturing process, accreditations and recent projects and finishes with a look at alsecco Airtec Glass lightweight ventilated rainscreen facades and some new innovative developments.
Ben Parry, Commercial Director, alsecco, commented: “We are committed to the RIBA CPD accreditation process and to educating architects in an interesting and informative way. This first seminar introduces the architect to alsecco through its knowledge and
expertise of the ventilated rainscreen cladding market. We are now working on the other seminars in the series concentrating on the requirements of modern architecture and exemplar facade design.”
