Solar power generating roofing membranes
Evalon Solar is a Building Integrated PhotoVoltaic Product (BIPV). It combines excellent waterproofing qualities with the
provision of renewable energy through the conversion of sunlight into electricity, by means of factory encapsulated solar
cells.
Introduction I.C.B. provides
roofing solutions to the construction
industry with an emphasis on
environmentally friendly products
and roof systems that are
ecologically beneficial.
Applications Evalon Solar may be
installed on flat roofs without ballast
and on both non-ventilated and
ventilated roof constructions. Ideal
applications are barrel vaulted,
mono-pitched, double pitch, butterfly
and saw tooth roofs with south
facing pitched surfaces.
Typical use is on large, low pitched
roof areas of industrial and
commercial buildings in either new
build or refurbishment.
Authority Evalon Solar is CE
certified and certified to IEC 61646/
CEC 701. The company is certified
to DIN EN ISO 9001 and
DIN EN ISO 14001.
Green issues Free electrical power
is generated from solar power even
under low light conditions. Solar
cells generate the energy used in
manufacture within 1.8 years.
DESCRIPTION
Evalon Solar is supplied in flexible
rolls in four types offering different
power outputs.
Composition, manufacture
Evalon Solar comprises Uni-Solar
®
photovoltaic (PV) panels, factory
laminated and fully weatherproofed
within a transparent polymer
coating. PV modules comprise
flexible solar cells configured in
series with bypass diodes between
all cells. Solar cells have three
silicon layers that each use different
wavelengths of solar light.
Polymer coating comprises Evalon
thermoplastic alloy (EVA/PVC)
membranes.
Connection cables are concealed
beneath the solar membranes and
are protected from rain, wind and
weather. All electrical components,
including integrated mains
monitoring devices, are mounted on
the underside of the roof.

black-blue. Evalon membranes are
available in a variety of colours.
PERFORMANCE
Weather Evalon Solar panels are
fully weather resistant.
Heat Performance is less affected
by temperature than crystalline
cells.
Light Optimal utilisation of light
spectrum is by the use of thin film
triple junction technology.
Electrical Solar energy availability
in the region is approx.
750 - 950 kWh/kWp.
ECONOMICS
Warranties Evalon Solar carries a
warranty of up to 20 years.
