Windows and Doors, a market
leading US company with over
90 years' experience. It has
completed hundreds of projects and
has a workforce of over 100,
offering design, support, painting,
installation and customer care.
Applications Marvin Windows and
Doors products are suitable for new
build and replacement projects in
houses of any era or style. Historical
and traditional profiles can be
matched.
Authority Windows and doors are
CE certified, independently tested to
BS 6206 and BS EN 1026, 1027
and 12211 and comply with all
relevant Building Regulations.
The
company is registered with FENSA
and is a member of the Window and
Door Manufacturers Association
(WDMA) and the National
Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).
Green issues Marvin uses
primarily pine in manufacture and
purchases from reliable raw lumber
suppliers who subscribe to the
Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI).
It is a corporate sponsor and board
member of the Tropical Forest
Foundation (TFF) which promotes
sustainable tropical forest
management.
Materials used in windows and
doors are recyclable. The company
actively recycles its waste wood,
packaging, paper, plastics, waste
solvents, paints, scrap metal, glass
and tyres.
DESCRIPTION
A wide choice of window types is
offered.
Awning windows may be used
singly or in combination with other
window types to add height, light
and ventilation; jambs are of
116 mm width.
Bow and bay windows are created
from multiple window assemblies
with any number of windows, angles
and finishes; jambs are of 116 mm
width and curved, laminated head
and seat boards can be factory
applied.
Casement: Casemaster windows
have multi-point locks and 116 mm
wide jambs; a Heritage version for
listed, conservation and period
buildings has 16 mm narrow glazing
bars.
Glider windows have horizontally
sliding sashes.
Sliding sash windows have a choice

of glazing bar patterns and round
top shapes; an integrated block and
tackle system allows windows to
move with fingertip ease; an
integrated tilt lever lock allows
sashes to be tilted in or removed for
easy cleaning; a Heritage version
for listed, conservation and period
buildings has 16 mm narrow glazing
bars.
Special shape windows are offered
in a variety of geometric, including
circular and round top, shapes that
can be used singly or in
combination. They may be double
height or with mezzanine design
options and may be customised with
straight or curved glazing bars and
different colours to match/contrast
existing. Jamb width is 116 mm.
Tilt and turn windows open 2 ways,
tilting at the top for ventilation and
swinging in for cleaning.
Venting picture windows open with
the sash projecting 57 mm from the
frame using a hidden handle. Range
is available in sizes up to 1800 mm
x 1800 mm; jamb width is 116 mm.
Composition, manufacture
Windows are offered in a choice of
- All wood, with wood brick mould
casing, or
- With an external, extruded
aluminium cladding finished in
Flurospar
®
with 70% Kynar 500
®
.
All wood used is of furniture grade,
with no knots and free from defects.
Species available are Ponderosa
Pine, vertical grain Douglas Fir,
mahogany, cherry and white oak.
Windows can be supplied varnished
or painted to factory finish standard
or primed for painting by others.
Glazing is of single pane (wood
units only), double glazing, double
glazing with Low E II glass and triple
glazing. A wide choice of glass that
includes bronze, grey and green
tinted, obscure, clear, patterned and
decorative and glass to customers'
requirements is offered.
Glazing bar options comprise
simulated, simulated with spacer bar
and authentic. Hardware includes
ranges of sash locks including
keyed, sash lifts and folding
handles.
Dimensions As all windows are
offered on an individual basis,
dimensions depend on customers'
requirements.
Appearance There is a choice of
19 cladding colours and 8 hardware
finishes: details are available from
