Fakro offers a wide range of roof windows suitable for loft refurbishments in new and old build, domestic or commercial
buildings. A choice of high quality, standard-sized windows, available ex-stock, is supported by many
non-standard sizes and shapes. Fakro roof windows are durable, sustainable and functional with a high level of insulation,

Introduction Fakro is one of the

products in the world. Fakro prides

Authority Fakro Thermo roof
windows are the subject of
Agrément Cert. 02/3944, are
designated EXT.S.AA when tested
to BS 476: Part 3 and comply with
all NHBC requirements. All quality
and manufacturing controls are in
accordance with appropriate
European standards. The company
tests its products to each country's
requirements e.g. BBA, IAB, CE.
Green issues Most timber is
sourced from FSC certified mixed
sources. Fakro recycles all timber
left over from production. No lead is
used in the manufacturing process.
DESCRIPTION
The range of roof windows comprises
the following types and models:
Pivot windows:
are suitable for roof pitches 15
o
- 90
o
.
Opening is by a centre pivot method
and roof windows can be rotated
through 180
o
for cleaning or operating
the awning blind; handles are
positioned on the lower part of the
sash for easy operation and also have
secure micro-opening in 2 positions.
FTP-V U3, FTP-V L3 models are
double-glazed with a toughened
outer pane. The latter windows have
a laminated internal pane. Both
models are available in the
conservation version and are
finished with 3 layers of clear
lacquer.
FTU-V double-glazed model offers
additional moisture resistance,
being coated with a 4 coat, white
polyurethane varnish.
FTT U5 Thermo has triple glazing
with excellent thermal insulation and
class 4 airtightness.
New Thermal Efficient Windows:
The U6 is triple-glazed and has a
U-value of 0.81 W/m
2
K for the window,
0.72 when used with the thermal
flashing (product code finishing-AT).
The U8 needs a thermal flashing
and as a complete unit achieves
0.58 W/m
2
K with the thermal
flashing (product code finishing-AT).

Both of these windows pivot 7 cm
above the geometric centre of the
window and can be used on a pitch
of 15 - 70° roofs. Both windows are
non-vented, have internal laminated
glass as well as external toughened
glass as standard. Both also
achieve a 38 dB acoustic reduction.
Top-hung and pivot windows:
FPP preSelect

model is suitable
for roofs with pitches 15

and,
in some sizes, as escape windows.
The top-hung facility enables
outward stable opening from

; the centre pivoting facility is
used for cleaning and also operating
the awning blind. Selection of opening
method is by a sliding switch.
Side-hung escape windows:
FWL or R U3; FWL or R L3 models
are side-hung, double-glazed windows
which act as escape windows with
safe and easy access to the roof,
comply with Building Regulations
requirements and are available with
left and right hand opening to 90
o
.
Windows for vertical combination:
FTP/D, FNP/D models are available
in opening and non-opening
versions and are designed for
installation in vertical combinations
with other roof windows using a
vertical jointing module. Opening
versions have a locking mechanism.
L-shaped combination windows:
BDL or BDR L3; BVP L3; BXP L3
combination windows are installed
where the roof meets the vertical
wall; a choice of opening, tilting and
non-opening windows is offered.
Conservation windows:
FTP-V/C centre pivot, FPP-V/C
preSelect and FW/C side-hung
means of escape models are
designed to provide a traditional
British conservation style for areas
of particular need.
FTP-V and FPP roof windows may
be fitted with the automatic V40P air
vent which continuously adjusts the
air flow duct size depending on
quantity of inflowing air, thereby
preventing heat loss. The V40P also
prevents strong gusting winds blowing
excess cold air into the room by the
wind pressure closing the vent off.
Glazing options comprise tinted,
obscure, reflective and self-cleaning
glass.
External metal coverings for
windows and flashings in any RAL
colour are available.
All Fakro windows can be fitted with
most internal and external accessories.
Balcony Window System:
This has a lower window where the
balustrade slides under the profiles

Composition, manufacture All
roof windows, except for PTP
models, are manufactured from
selected, high quality pine that is
double vacuum preservative treated
& given a 3 coat matt lacquer finish.
All windows are double-glazed with
toughened glass or, in the case of
FTT Thermo, triple-glazed; the outer
pane is externally coated with silver
oxide which reflects the sun's rays.
Accessories Full ranges of roller
shutters, flashings, awning blinds,
internal blinds, electrical opening
systems and storm vents for extreme
exposed areas are available.
Shape Non-opening, non-standard
shaped windows based on provided
drawings are available.

Appearance Wooden elements
may be painted in any RAL colour.
Solar Panels are also now part of the
product porfolio allowing simple
integration of roof windows and solar
panels into one roof area, flashed
together and size/colour matched to
remain aesthetically attractive on the
roof.

MAINTENANCE
Windows need re-greasing and
