Applications  This world acclaimed 
and award winning system is 
passive, being automatically 
deployed by the rising flood water 
and can be used along a waterway, 
river or coast; within a flood wall; in 
a roadway and to protect 

with PUR foam core reinforced by 
laminate steel strips. Vulnerable 
areas  are protected by Kevlar for 
impact strength. The steel basin/pit 
elements are prefabricated and 
protected by Redox EP Ferroflake   
two-compound coating and cathodic 
protection. The concrete basin/pit is 
prefabricated or built on-site in a 
mould and can withstand a minimum 
of 10 times the sideways water 
pressure.
Description  The SCFB comprises 
a floating wall with a lid that is held 
within a prefabricated steel or 
concrete basin. In normal (non-flood) 
conditions the wall is invisibly held 
within the basin with the barrier lid 
flush with the ground level. When the 
water rises to within 100 mm of flood 
level, the basin fills with water via a 
filling pipe in a pit and the wall floats 
and rises. When water fills the basin 
the closing surface locks the barrier in 
a watertight position. When the flood 
level subsides, the basin is drained 
using a one-way check valve or pump 
and the wall returns to its resting 
position.  The surface lids prevents 
the inflow of waste or debris.
The SCFB fitted as standard with a 
telemetry early warning system that 
can be remotely monitored.

Applications  This award-winning 
product prevents sewage 
back-flowing into a property via the 
drainage system.
Authority  The valve is fully certified 
by CSA International and has been 
rigorously tested in adverse 
backflow conditions. It fulfils the 

requirements of EN 13564-1 and is

currently  undergoing  BBA  certification.    
Description  In normal, non-flood 
conditions the valve is fully open 
with freedom of movement enhanced 
by in-built flow wings in the valve 
body. Solids can flow without 
restriction, there is no restriction to 
maintenance as with all other 
backflow valves on the market. This 
valve can be rodded and visual 
inspection can be carried out through 
the sealed clear lid. This negates the 
need to open the drainage system 
avoiding unnecessary health and 
safety issues. Air can circulate freely 
through the valve and drainage 
system. If water surges back through 
the pipes, the valve automatically 
shuts against a neoprene gasket seal 
to prevent back-flow. Its flotation 
devices ensure the valve is effective 

against gradual backflow and fast 
surges.  Connections are EU 
standard male chamfered.
