Faber is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of window blinds. All types of blinds are supplied and installed to suit most
commercial applications, including blinds for large areas of glazing and those controlled electronically. Faber also
manufactures blinds for domestic use.
Introduction Faber has been in the
sunscreening business since 1900
and is established internationally as
a major blind manufacturer. The
company philosophy is based on
providing the widest range of top
quality products and a customer
orientated service. Principal product
ranges are detailed below.
Authority The company's services
including installation are accredited to
BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 and BS EN
ISO 14001: 2004. The design of a
number of products is patented
under UK and international legislation.
Applications Most blinds are
equally suitable for domestic use as
well as commercial installations.
Certain products, such as
heavy-duty roller blinds, have
specialised applications - e.g. an
electrically operated sunscreening
system with automatic controls for
large areas of glazing.
DESCRIPTION
Venetian blinds A comprehensive
range is available for all types of
installation. The aluminium alloy
slats come in widths of 16, 25, 35
and 50 mm in a wide choice of
colours and special finishes.
Maximatic blinds are for external
use to combat solar heat gain and
may be linked to automatic sensors.
Softline is a Venetian blind with a
softly curved headrail that echoes
the shape of the slats.
Midimatic
and
Minimatic are mono-control
blinds that can be electrically
operated, the
Metalet 25DV and
Minimatic DV are for installation
between glazing, and
Metalet 61AV
and
Metamatic AV blinds are for
audio-visual applications. The
Faber PC blind is an anti-glare
Venetian blind with 25 mm slats
specially suitable for computer
environments.
Vertical blinds provide efficient
sunscreening and are particularly
suitable for wide, full height
windows. Blinds are available with a
number of options including those
for bay and arched windows, 89 and
127 mm louvre widths and a wide
choice of flame retardant fabrics.
Some screening fabrics are also
available in vertical
louvre widths.
The blinds are suitable for windows
up to 6000 mm wide.
MechoShade/ElectroShade roller
sunscreening systems are suitable
for most types of commercial
applications. The visually
transparent
ThermoVeil fabrics are
available in varying degrees of

density to suit specific
environmental factors, and are
compatible with differing window
glass to give the required shading
coefficient and solar control. As well
as being flame retardant, blinds are
resistant to staining and highly
effective against bacterial growth.
MechoShade is manually operated
by chain and sprocket, incorporating
an adjustable locking system
allowing the blind to stop at
predetermined positions.
ElectroShade is a motorised
system available for large and
high-level glazing areas and other
specialised requirements, via
intelligent control systems designed
to offer seamless integration into
third party lighting, HVAG, A/V and
building management systems, thus
providing the ultimate in terms of
occupant comfort and intelligent
building performance.
Roller blinds A number of systems
are offered, including electrically
operated blinds for advanced control
or inaccessible windows, and an
extensive range of screening and
performance fabrics. Different sizes
of roller tube with either chain or
spring operation cater for large or
small blinds and different weights of
fabric.
Faber Adaptium offers a
choice of roller tube; chain, rod or
electric operation and the option of
fascias, cassettes, side channels
and guide wires.
Faber 2000,
Faber 1800 and Series One are
blackout blinds with light excluding
headbox and side/bottom channels.
Awnings provide efficient and
flexible external sunscreening that
extends out from the building to
achieve shading over extensive
areas. The range includes drop arm
cassette, semi or full cassette and
vertical cassette models to provide
individual solutions for almost any
building façade.
SERVICES
A complete measure, supply and
installation service is offered,
together with project management
for major projects where this would
form part of the client's brief, or
complex installations where this is
necessary to ensure minimal
disruption when the blinds are fitted.

Direct from the company's
purpose-built factory in Northampton

Installation A nationwide fitting
service is available. Alternatively,
fitting instructions are provided for
supply-only products.
