Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems
Introduction  Comar is one of the 
largest privately owned commercial 
architectural systems companies in 
Europe. It designs, develops and 
manufactures its own systems 
which comprise a huge array of 
extrusion profiles and components. 
This offers the specifier the flexibility 
of design options at realistic cost.
A continuous research and 
development programme ensures the

and construction options. Comar 
products are mutually compatible.
Authority  The company is a  
BS Registered Firm to  
BS EN ISO 9001. It is a member of 
the CAB (Council for Aluminium in 
Buildings), the GAI (Guild of 
Architectural Ironmongers) and the 
CWCT (Centre of Window and 
Cladding Technology) and is an 
associate member of the National 
Association of Shopfitters.  
All systems conform to many of the 
requirements of BS 4873 and meet 
the requirements of Building 
Regulations Approved Document L..
Green issues  Aluminium is 100% 
recyclable and can be recycled 
endlessly with no performance loss. 
It is highly sustainable with over  
300 years worth of bauxite reserves.
 
 
Comar 5 window system
 
Description  Comar 5 is a thermally 
broken window system that includes 
side-hung, bottom-hung, top-hung, 
horizontal and vertical pivot, tilt and 
turn, top-swing reversible and sliding 
window types. Windows can 
incorporate through-frame or 
glazed-in ventilators from the 
Comar-Duco range. Comar 
5
windows may be coupled together 
to provide ribbon windows. They 
can be used with other Comar 
products, providing opening vents 
coupled to doors and opening vents 
to window walling, curtain walling 
and ground floor treatment. 
Dimensions (mm)
Profile widths: 45, 50, 55, 60 and 75 
Glazing options: 4 to 45. 
Weather  Comar 5 exceeds the
requirements of BS EN 1026, 1027 
and 12211.
Heat  Comar 5 offers low U-values.

From its comprehensive range of products Comar features here the Comar 5 suite of aluminium window systems that 
includes the Comar 5P.i
 and Comar 5P.i ECO systems. The Comar 5 range has 45 mm, 50 mm, 55 mm, 60 mm and 75 mm 
options.

concealed locking mechanism and 
double keep. Sashes can be tilted 
for cleaning and may be fitted with a 
lockable restrictor at 100 mm 
increments. Brush and bubble seals 
are fitted to the entire perimeter of 
each sash and an additional buffer 
seal is incorporated into the outer 
frame.

Windows may fit openings >500 
wide and, depending on wind 
loading, up to 2800 high.
Appearance  Profile faces can be 
polyester powder coated or 
anodised.
Comar 5P.i ECO window system
Authority  Comar 5P.i ECO
windows achieve a Grade A Window 
Energy Rating (WER). 
Description  The Comar 5P.i ECO 
is a 75 mm and 55 mm window 
system which can be manufactured 
in all casement configurations, side 
and top projected, with cockspur or 
shoot-bolt locking. 
Windows can incorporate glazing
units of up to 32 mm thick and have 
a shoot bolt option, conforming with 
BS 7950.
The 75 mm version can integrate 
directly with Comar 7P.i ECO door 
range to create seamless window 
and door combinations.
They have a dual colour option 
where internal and external profile 
faces may be polyester powder 
coated or anodised.
INFORMATION COMMON TO ALL 
PRODUCTS
Composition, manufacture  
Extruded profiles are of aluminium 
alloy to BS EN 515, BS EN 573 and 
EN 755-2, glazing gaskets are 
extruded from EPDM and the 
thermal barrier is of polyurethane 
resin. Aluminium profiles are 
anodised to BS EN 12373: Part 1 or 
BS 3987, liquid organic coated to 
BS 4842 or polyester powder coated 
to BS 6496.
Appearance  Anodised finish is 
from the Anolok and Sandalor 
colour ranges. Polyester powder 
coating is from the extensive ranges 
of RAL and British Standard colours.
