This comprehensive range of plywoods is produced for general use in the building industry as well as specific designs for
use as flooring, façades and concrete shuttering.
Introduction Based predominantly
in Finland, the company has nearly
100 years of experience in the
manufacture and development of
plywood. It has a production
capacity of 1,000,000 m
3
of
plywoods and veneers per year.
It has its own Research and
Development Centre engaged in
product development and research.
A comprehensive range of plywoods
is produced for specific applications.
Authority All plywoods have a
WBP weather-resistant bonding that
complies with EN 314: Part 2
Class 3 exterior. Manufacture is in
line with BS EN ISO 14001 and
BS EN ISO 9001. CE marking is to
EN 13986.
Green issues All manufacture is
based on the use of renewable
wood sources. Up to 80% of
manufacturing energy requirement
is from production by-products.
WISA-Spruce, WISA-Sprucefloor
and WISA-Sprucedeck
Applications In accordance with
BS 5268: Part 2,
WISA-Spruce is
suitable for structural applications in
roofing, flooring and wall sheathing
and may also be used in the
manufacture of furniture. Design
data is available in accordance with
current European Standards to
enable design to Eurocode 5.
WISA-Sprucefloor is a flooring
panel suitable for domestic, light
industrial and commercial
applications. It may be used in both
'dry' and 'risk of wetting/humid'
conditions.
WISA-Sprucedeck has a
removable weather-resistant coating
and is designed for external use,
particularly in construction within an
incomplete building envelope.
Description Construction is from
spruce veneer using a phenolic
resin adhesive. Both faces are fully
sanded and boards may be tongued
& grooved on the two long edges or
all four edges. Treatment with
preservative enhances durability
and ensures suitability for external
use.

Fire Fire resistance is equivalent to
softwood flooring of the same
thickness.

thermal conductivity of 0.14 W/mK,
low thermal capacity and is not
affected dimensionally in the
temperature range 0 - 25

Applications WISA-Birch
Premium plywood is used for
visually demanding applications,
e.g. in furniture and interior lining.
Description Construction is from
fine grain, high quality birch veneers
with a phenol resin glue for internal
or external use.

Applications The complete range

WISA-Formwork concrete
shuttering panels covers virtually all
applications, from 1 to over 100
reuses, with F1 to F4 finish qualities
and the ability to withstand concrete
pressures from 20 to 200 kN/m
2

Description Construction is from
birch and spruce veneers in various
combinations and coated with
phenolic film, medium density
overlay or plastic according to the
engineering requirements for
concrete loadings and the aesthetic
requirements for the concrete finish
as defined by the architect.
Product range comprises

MDO, WISA-Form Slab, WISA-Form
Beto, WISA-Form Birch 220 and
WISA-Form Elephant and
WISA-Form Pro.

WISA-Twin multi-purpose panels
Applications WISA-Twin is used in
a wide variety of applications
including construction, furniture and
joinery. It may be used in humid
conditions to EN 636-2.

Registered Trademark
Authority WISA-Twin has PEFC
certification. It fulfils standard
EN 717: Part 2 Class A requirement
for formaldehyde emission.
Description WISA-Twin has a
sanded, long grain birch surface
layer with a light, even smooth finish
on a spruce core. Bonding is with
weather-resistant glueing giving
EN 314: Part 2 Class 3 exterior.
Face has BB quality and reverse of
WG quality to EN 635: Part 2.

Composition, manufacture The
raw materials used are Finnish birch
- a hardwood - and Finnish spruce
- a softwood; these woods have a
close grain structure and consistent
quality. The base panel is
manufactured using cross-banded
birch and spruce veneers.
Plywoods may be coated to improve
wear and impact resistance, the
effects of weather and hygienic
qualities. Coatings include phenolic
laminates, paints, plastic films and
