waste and rainwater systems; and
as below ground suspended and
buried drainage as well as bridge
drainage and syphonic rainwater
systems.
Authority  The company is certified
to BS EN ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO
14001. It operates to Integrated
Pollution and Preventative Control
(IPCC) regulations and has
implemented comprehensive
environmental management

manufactured from 97% recycled
scrap.
Cast iron drainage systems to
BS EN 877 for above and below
ground
Ensign cast iron system
Authority  Ensign is kitemarked to
BS EN 877 and is the subject of
Agrément Cert. No. 95/3125.
It is manufactured under a
BS EN ISO 9001 quality assurance
scheme.
Description  Ensign is a lighter
weight cast iron system.
Connections are by patented
two-piece ductile iron couplings with
built-in electrical continuity capable
of withstanding up to 5 bar
accidental pressure restrained
(50 - 150 mm). Ductile fixing
brackets provide support for pipes of
up to 200 mm in diameter, which
can also be fitted with an acoustic
dampener to give excellent acoustic
performance (up to 150 mm diameter).
A number of alternative methods
can be used for connection to
plastic and copper waste pipes
including the multi-waste manifold.
Dimensions (mm)
Diameters:
Above ground: 50 - 600
Below ground: 100 - 600
Appearance
Above ground: pipes are epoxy
lined and externally coated with a
red anti-rust primer; fittings are
internally and externally red epoxy
coated.
Below ground: pipes are epoxy lined
and externally have an additional
zinc coating followed by a grey
acrylic primer; fittings are grey
epoxy coated.
Ensign EEZI-FIT cast iron sanitary
system
Authority  Ensign EEZI-FIT is
kitemarked to BS EN 877 for
sanitary applications.
Description  Ensign
 EEZI-FIT is a
range of push-fit socketed fittings
and couplings in 100 mm and
150 mm diameters.
Couplings and sockets utilise a
gasket design in EPDM that
simplifies jointing and can be fitted
with electrical continuity clips if
(earthing is) required.
Fittings include: standard bends and
branches, a number of alternative
methods to connect to waste pipes,
single and double radius branches
with four boss positions, a range of
short boss pipes with up to three
waste connections and a manifold
connector with an extended spigot
that will penetrate a floor slab of up
to 300 mm thickness without the
need of a joint in the slab.
Ductile brackets and the acoustic
brackets are the recommended
supports, and all fittings from the
standard Ensign range are
compatible with EEZI-FIT.
Appearance  Coating is as Ensign
above ground.
Mechanics  Ensign EEZI-FIT is
designed for gravity sanitary
applications 0.5 bar (accidental
static water pressure) performance.

EPAMS

cast iron syphonic
rainwater system
Applications  Syphonic rainwater
designs are ideal for large roof
areas such as factories,
warehouses, shopping centres,
airports, hotels and stadia.
Authority  EPAMS is the subject of
Agrément Cert. No. 06/4328.
Description  Each EPAMS system
is designed for a specific project by
the company's technical team using
special software. Systems are
cost-effective with the requirement
of narrower diameter pipes and
fewer downpipes. The range
consists of stainless steel syphonic
rainwater outlets and the SMU cast
iron pipes and fittings to BS EN 877
connected by stainless steel couplings.
Dimensions (mm)
Diameters:
Outlets: 50 - 125
Pipes and fittings: 50 - 300
PERFORMANCE
Mechanics  Above ground cast iron
systems have a high pressure
capability with standard range and
below ground systems exhibit
superior crush strength.
Fire  Cast iron systems are
non-combustible and will not emit
dangerous toxic smoke.
Chemical  Chemicals of range
pH1 - pH13 can be accommodated.
Sound  Cast iron systems have
excellent sound deadening
properties and have been tested
against BS EN 14366 with the
following results:
-  An airborne noise level of 45 and
  47 dB(A) at 2 and 4 l/s flow rates
 respectively
-  Structure-borne noise levels of
  5 and 11 dB (A) at 2 and 4 l/s flow
  rates respectively
Compatibility  Boss pipes and
manifolds are supplied with rubber
grommets for connection to 54 mm
OD copper and 56 mm OD PVC-U
waste pipes with a reducer used to
connect to 38/32 mm waste.
Durability  Life expectancy is
50 - 75 years.

Cast iron drainage systems
for above and below ground:
Featured here are the
Timesaver
 above and below
ground drainage sytems, and
the Classical
 ranges of
traditional cast iron rainwater
and gutter systems.
Timesaver cast iron above
ground system
Applications  Timesaver Soil is
used for above ground gravity soil,
vent and waste, especially suited for
external soil stacks on heritage or
listed buildings.
Authority  Timesaver Soil is
kitemarked to BS 416: Part 2.
Description  Timesaver pipes are
connected by two-piece ductile iron
couplings. Alternatively, for the
traditional external soil stacks, the
Heritage push-fit couplings are
available in 50, 75 and 100 mm
diameters to give the socket and
spigot the appearance of BS 416:
Part 1, without the labour intensive
caulked joints.
Pipes of diameters 75 mm and
100 mm are also available in 6 ft
(1830 mm) lengths in keeping with
this traditional market requirement.
Dimensions (mm)
Diameters: 50 - 150
Timesaver cast iron below ground
system
Applications  Timesaver Drain is
used for suspended and buried
drainage as well as for bridges.
Strength from extra section
thickness makes it ideal for under
building drainage, and areas of
unstable ground.
Authority  Timesaver Drain is
kitemarked to BS 437.
Description  Timesaver pipes are
connected by two-piece ductile iron
couplings. The range includes many
traditional British Standard design
fittings like gully traps, raising
pieces, gully inlets, chambers and
anti-flooding devices.
