Authority All Cembrit's natural
slates are annually tested to ensure
they meet the requirements of
BS EN 12326-1: 2004. Test
certificates and accompanying
commercial documents are available
on request from Head Office.
Natural slates
DESCRIPTION
Glendyne and Alpina
natural slates
are quarried and the selected
material cut to nominal dimensions.
Only the best material is then split
and mechanically dressed to the
size required. Slate, a half and
double size slates are also offered.
Accessories include copper slate
nails and stainless steel nail hooks.
Appearance
Glendyne: blue/grey,
Alpina: grey/green and graphite.
PERFORMANCE
Weather Natural slates can
withstand the most severe weather
conditions including acid rain, sea
air and salt spray.
Fire Natural slates are
non-combustible as designated AA
by the Building Regulations.
Liquids Cembrit's Brazilian and
Canadian slates exhibited Class 1A
standard for water absorption.
Heat Class T1 for thermal cycle
resistance.
Chemical Class S1 for sulphur
dioxide exposure resistance.
Durability All slates will provide a
durable covering to pitched roofs of
permanent buildings when laid in
accordance with BS 5534: 2003,
BS 8000-6: 1990 and ventilated in
accordance with BS 5250: 2002.
