Aico Ltd has published a new Housing Specifier’s Pocket Book designed to provide anyone involved with specification with all the information they require to produce a robust fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO) detection system specification for virtually all types of single family dwellings and many Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO).

The Pocket Book, with its ‘6 Steps to Successful Specification’, includes alarm grades and categories, choice of back-up supply, alarm sensor types, alarm quality, installation methods and additional features to consider such as alarm control switches.

Other subjects covered include ‘Testing & Commissioning’, ‘Maintenance & Troubleshooting’, easy to understand Wiring Diagrams, and an overview on the key standards and procedures in this field, including BS 5839-6:2004, Building Regulations, LACORS and fire risk assessment.

In addition to traditional alarm systems, the Housing Specifier’s Pocket Book also addresses new technology and innovations, such as RadioLINK wire-free alarm interconnection, the award winning Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm and control devices, all of which are unique to Aico.

Copies of the guide are available from Aico by registering online at www.aico.co.uk.
