Insulation of cooled-water lines at Wimbledon Centre Court
Case Study
Existing aluminium jacketing and mineral fibre cladding on exposed cooled-water lines in the service tunnels at Centre Court were becoming damaged during the course of deliveries, causing moisture ingress which was compromising the insulation system.
The Arma-Chek system was specified as a replacement system, consisting of tried and tested Armaflex insulation material with additional robust, flexible covering. The closed-cell Armaflex material prevents condensation and energy losses on the pipes whilst the Arma-Chek covering protects the insulation material against mechanical impact and the penetration of moisture, oil, and chemicals.
