Products from Johnstone’s Ecological Solutions range have been specified on a unique project that aims to set a benchmark for future sustainable housing.

The VELUX CarbonLight Homes in Rothwell, Kettering, are two semi-detached zero carbon homes, constructed by Wilmott Dixon Housing, which set out to prove that it is possible to build energy efficient, sustainable housing that is practical, appealing and comfortable for the consumer, while being easy for the volume house builder to replicate.

Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt, Jonmat Premium Contract Matt and Acrylic Satin were specified for use on the project thanks to their unrivalled environmental credentials. Along with seven others, these products have had their environmental credentials independently tested and verified and have been awarded the coveted EU Ecolabel accreditation, which is only awarded to those products which are kindest to the environment.

All products in the range maintain the same high quality and performance decorators have previously enjoyed and they don’t come with a price premium, which means clients can continue to benefit from eco-friendly products at the same great value.
