Modular Sedum Green Roof System - simple installation of instant green roof - De Bouvier Crescent, London, July 2010
Case Study
An instant green roof system was installed on a built-up membrane.
Ease and speed of installation using the pre-grown modules - containing established sedum, aggregate substrate, filtration and drainage sheets - meant that the roofing contractors could carry out the work themselves rather than have to employ specialist landscaping teams.
The modules were delivered on pallets and hoisted onto the roof. The membrane was covered with geotextile to act as a separation layer, then the modules were placed on top. Each tray clicked into place by fitting the egg-box shaped cups together creating a seamless finish.
