RIBA-accredited CPD seminars from Sika

Global building product manufacturer Sika has created a series of RIBA-accredited Continual Professional Development (CPD) seminars, providing architects, specifiers and construction professionals with access to must-have industry knowledge.

Delivered by highly experienced and technical presenters, the CPD seminars have been designed to cover Sika’s five key product areas: elastic bonding and sealing, flooring, concrete repairs, basement waterproofing, and car parks.

Advanced Elastic Bonding & Sealing Technology in Construction looks at codes of practice, joint design and sealant selection, as well as traditional sealants and adhesives. It also covers the advantages and disadvantages of generic sealant types, polyurethane technology and highlights innovative new technologies.

Sika has used its technical expertise and practical experience to develop two CPD seminars specifically aimed at flooring and concrete specifiers. The Specifier's Guide to Flooring explores the options for industrial, commercial and specialist floor finishes, whilst A Specifier's Introduction to Concrete Repair (BS EN 1504) offers an understanding of concrete deterioration, along with possible repair technologies, remedial options and aesthetic upgrades.

With more than 100 years of waterproofing experience, Sika has utilised this to produce the Basement Waterproofing Technologies and Solutions seminar. It provides a comprehensive review of BS 8102:2009, and explains how to satisfy the three waterproofing grades defined by this British Standard. It also looks at technical challenges, including protection of structures against water from the ground and rising water tables.

The final seminar in the series looks at the different requirements of both new build and refurbishment car park projects. Car Park Structural Waterproofing & Protective Deck Treatments also covers exposure and typical problems in multi-storey car parks and looks at options for the waterproofing of structures, as well as repair and protection standards for concrete structures.
