Smoke vents from the new Bilco range have been thermally enhanced and a higher performance gasket introduced. The range includes smoke vents with solid, translucent, double leaf and acoustic covers. They are designed to satisfy Building Regulations and meet Approved Document B, BS 9999 and European Standards enshrined in EN 12101. Typically positioned at the head of a stairwell or smoke shaft, vents act as a chimney clearing the building of heat and smoke in the event of a fire. The OS2 control unit can be a stand-alone management system or integrated into a fully networked fire alarm or BMS system. Other control accessories can independently open and close access equipment in non-emergency situations, for example, for roof inspection and maintenance.
