Pilkington's glass for architects has properties ranging from fire-resistance & thermal insulation to safety & sound insulation. Innovation continues with new technologies such as self-cleaning glass. The range comprises Activ self-cleaning hydrophilic glass which breaks up organic dirt; glass which controls solar radiation by reflectance, absorptance and transmittance; thermal insulation products that include low-E glass, use of low thermal conductance gases, wider airspaces and triple glazing; protective toughened glass; fire resistant glass with varying levels of protection; decorative glass - patterned, textured and etched; special glasses such as Optiwhite low iron float glass with neutral clear appearance and Planar structural glass systems.
