Designing Out Waste: A Design Team Guide
(Literature)
Recent research by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) has identified the important contribution that designers can make in reducing construction waste through their design decisions. This guide outlines the case for design teams taking action to design out waste in construction projects, provides a detailed explanation of the five key principles and how they can be applied at project level. It also gives examples of opportunities for designing out waste in different elements of a building, and how designers have in practice achieved significant waste reductions.
Less Waste, Sharper Design: Reducing Construction Waste Through Design
(Course)
Effectively a one-day workshop introducing architects and other construction professionals to the concepts surrounding Materials Resource Efficiency (MRE) and the impact that designers can have upon the success (or failure) of waste minimisation or materials reuse.
