WPL has launched its new Integral Pump Chamber (IPC). This improved pump has been designed to a higher specification than its predecessor to create a more efficient model. The access chamber has also been increased, allowing easier access to the pump.

For over 20 years, WPL Ltd has been supplying Diamond package sewage treatment plants to properties not connected to mains drainage. If final effluent needs to be pumped to a water course, ditch or soakaway which is on an incline, in a high water table or is a distance from the soakaway, an IPC is needed. The Diamond IPC can pump up to 100 m up a hill, not exceeding
4 m above the base of the pumping station, and can deliver up to 150 litres per minute with a maximum head of 7 m.

The pump has been significantly upgraded to a complete stainless steel construction with an improved rate of pumping and an increase in the maximum head. The access chamber has also increased in size from 200 mm to 315 mm. Despite all of these upgrades, the retail price remains the same, giving the customer even better value for money.

The Diamond IPC consists of a 230v, 0.5 kw submersible stainless steel pump and integral float switch; mounting tube, high level alarm beacon with float switch and 10 m lead; float switch adaptor socket; 50 mm MDPE pipe outlet and the optional extra of an invert extension kit.

Dameon Brunn of Independent Drainage has installed and tested the new IPC and says: “I am extremely impressed with this pump and the alterations are nothing but improvements; the larger chamber means serviceable parts are now much easier to access. WPL has made effective changes to an already excellent treatment plant.”

The Diamond IPC forms part of the series of sewage treatment plants that WPL have designed specifically for properties not connected to mains drainage.

There are several key reasons to choose a Diamond wastewater solution for your development:

  • Minimal maintenance, low running cost: Unlike other sewage treatment plants on the market, the Diamond’s unique design has no internal moving parts. This means that it requires minimal annual maintenance, making it economical to run.
  • Kind to the environment: The Diamond’s treatment process requires no chemicals, so it’s kind to the environment.
  • Minimal visual impact: The Diamond’s tank is buried entirely underground – all that’s visible is the lid that sits flush with the ground, so it has minimal visual impact.
  • No smells: Most other treatment plants have primary tanks which store settled solids and can emit odours. The Diamond has no primary tank and is therefore odour-free.
  • Long emptying cycle: The Diamond’s continuous bacterial digestion treats wastewater to a standard that meets all normal Environment Agency consents. This treatment process can achieve a de-sludge (emptying) period of up to three years – much longer than that of most other plants.
