Produced on ExtraClear Float glass, SunGuard® Solar and High Durable coated glass is designed to reduce unwanted solar gain, available in a range of contemporary colours. The coating reflects heat from the sun, making the internal building environment comfortable. SunGuard Solar and High Durable glass is manufactured by applying multiple layers onto a glass substrate, based on the patented Silacoat® process. The SunGuard® Solar and High Durable ranges may be complemented by the ClimaGuard® low-emissivity range in providing a choice of solar heat gain and thermal insulation levels allowing you to satisfy all building energy standards. The HD products can be used monolithically without being fabricated into insulating glass units, when used in these applications the coating should be on surface 2 facings away from the exposed front of the glass.

  • Manufactured into suitable double or triple glass insulating units.
  • HD Products can be used monolithically (Check with manufacturer for approved applications)
  • Where HD products are used monolithically they should be installed on Surface 2

Guardian Europe has ISO 9001 accreditation for the manufacture of float glass at all of its European based float glass plants. Guardian Low-emissivity coated glass complies with the requirements of EN 1096-4: ‘Glass in Building – Coated Glass’. Guardian also has ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standard.
