A vapour open membrane for timber framed wall construction, manufactured by bonding a polypropylene, micro-porous film to polypropylene non-woven membranes. HouseBreathe protects against wind-driven rain, snow and dust, while allowing the passage of water vapour from the building interior.


  • Should be fixed to frames with stainless steel nails or staples at 500 mm maximum centres and installed with 150 mm vertical laps and 100 mm horizontal laps. Vertical laps should be staggered.
  • Stud locations should be marked on the face of the membrane with tape, to enable the securing of wall tie fixings.


  • Conforms to the requirements of W2 material in accordance with BS EN 13859-2:2010.
  • Meets NHBC requirements when installed in accordance with its BBA certificate.
