Dry-Fix roofing is the term used to describe the mechanical fixing of the roof perimeter at the ridge, hip and verge without the use of mortar. Traditional mortar bedding is still widely used in England and Wales but, since changes to british Standards must now be supported by additional mechanical fixing. In Scotland, dry fixing has been the preferred method of fixing for many years and has greatly helped to reduce the steadily increasing number of roofing claims under the NHBC Buildmark warranty.
